Brian Krebs (also known as: krebsonsecurity, krebsforamerica, Fisholas) is a cybersecurity journalist born in the United States. He began his career in the mid 90's as an investigative reporter for The Washington Post before focusing on the cybsec industry after 2001 and currently runs an independent blog by the name of Krebs on Security. According to Krebs, in 2001 the security of his home network was breached thus sparking his interest in computer security. The quality of his investigative journalism is questionable and many articles he has published are considered by many to be bullshit. He claims to have a thorough knowledge about networking among other topics but it seems that he has no idea what he is talking about.

Krebs has communicated directly with John Mosley in the past about his forum software project, among other things, and his name became involved with a gambit by Mosley to elect Krebs as the president of his high school's student council. Krebs' likeness was also used to create a club at the high school known as the Club Penguin Club.

On the forum

On 12 December 2021, the account krebsonsecurity was registered on Esoteric Chat. All Krebs accounts are widely considered to be part of admin's centipede. The first post made with this account was a direct response to a criticism of the forum's free speech policy posted by Dwight Schrute, one which was lampooned by several members of the forum. Many of Krebs' postings consisted of opinion pieces designed to sway the popular opinion of the forum's users, with their contents being facetious in nature.

By July 2021, Krebs' first account was suspended by Adolf Hitler for powerposting. Not long after this, a new account by the name of Fisholas was created that, to the account's own admission, was an alt of the first Krebs account. The substance of its postings were almost identical to Krebs except that, instead of by creating new conversations, posts were by and large made in the form of a reply to other users (in pre-existing conversations) which served the purpose of infuriating the userbase. The arguments posed within these posts did not follow any form of logic and were created in order to get a response out of the other users.

For much of the period in this forum's history, the identity of the Krebs poster was not agreed upon. Khaleeb believed that the accounts were owned by Corona's little brother meanwhile Akefu and others believed they belonged to Longo.

Fisholas

Fisholas is the name of Krebs' second account and it uses a profile picture of a cartoon fish stolen from a child's picture book. This profile picture was also used by Mr. Fish from The Right Server and later by Inpace, also paired with the name Mr. Fish. The idea that this account is operated by a real person has become a running joke both on and off the forum.
