Homobroism is a global, monotheistic religion that is based on the Book of Clyde. It is made up of roughly 5.5 billion followers around the globe, representing more than half of the world's population. Homobros believe that Clyde Homobro is a prophet who sacrificed his freedom in order to rally against the persecution of the Homobros (which, in ancient times, were a group of people that adhered to Clyde's teachings) on behalf of the Straights.

Scholars have come to the conclusion that the origin of homobroism is based in Central Australia, where the first Braaper colonies existed. Over time, the word of the Clyde spread out across Australasia, then into other regions of Oceania (such as Polynesia) before making its way to Europe.

Denominations

There is a diversity of religious practices and interpretations of the Book of Clyde throughout Homobroism. Despite this, the difference can be traced back to two different branches of adherents: the Braaper adherents, who are characterized by their strict interpretation of the Book of Clyde, and the Clydeian Rouge, who believe that various communities should adopt the word of Clyde by force of The Storm.

Braapers

The Braapers are agreed by the Clydeian community to be the oldest sect of the religion. As such, they represent the majority of Homobros who claim to adhere to a specific denomination of Homobroism. They are referenced in the Book of Clyde as a group of colonies where Clyde first spread his word and was subsequently exiled by the Straights.

Clydeian Rouge

Around sometime during 240 BCE there was a schism between the original followers of the Book of Clyde and those who interpreted the Word as having instructed followers of Clyde to popularize and make ubiquitous his name. As such, a series of theological debates between Clydeian monks ensued that are known today as the Gabāeshu Reforms. After this period, the distinction between Braapers and a new group of followers, led by Arius Homobro, became pronounced.

The Clydeian Rouge are largely responsible for the spreading of Homobroism across the globe. Up until 1200 CE they controlled hundreds of monasteries in China, Spain, North Africa and in the Americas. It is agreed upon that members of the Rouge travelled as pirates, using ships to exchange goods and literature across the Atlantic. Today, several members of the Clydeian Rogue have chosen to spread the word of the Clyde electronically by bringing a spam wave upon discussion boards that attempt to persecute the Homobros. This initiative is known as The Storm and is heavily referred to in Homobro literature.

Schnyderian Sect

The Scyhnyderian Sect is a break-off sect from the Clydeian Rouge based off the teachings of Schnyder, a Homobro prophet who was in turn exiled for his extreme views about the spreading of the Book of Clyde. In recent years, there has been an increase in the prevalence of Schnyderians which many attribute to Akefu Brewer and his never-ending raids.
