An eso is an entity which is discussed using esoTalk. Eso are the driving force behind eso-mania and an insanity which pervades many conversations started using the forum software, which is why outsiders view the forum as undesirable. Once a person is ingrained into the forum, it is reported that eso can be seen in the corner of one's eye or at the forefront of an idea that is later subject to other users on the forum.

Esonesia

This phenomenon is marked by users forgetting their own posts and even whole conversations. It's likely a result of the brain's natural defense mechanisms against eso. The subconscious mind realizes that eso drives people completely an totally insane. The only recourse is to forget, repress all memories pertaining to eso so that the user doesn't get "sucked in." The vast majority of people succumb to esonesia and forget about geteso.org and eso completely. These are the lucky few.

Esomania

This is a much more serious condition than esonesia. When the brain's natural defense mechanisms are no match for eso, bad things happen. Esomania is when a user becomes absolutely obsessed with eso. They experience a form of insanity as a result of continued exposure to eso and diving way too deeply into its many secrets and conspiracies. These poor bastards literally cannot stop themselves from compulsively delving into eso no matter what. Oftentimes users are able to get their esomania to esonesia ratio to tip towards esonesia and escape from the site forever by forgetting it ever existed. Other times users are absolutely consumed with no hope of reaching a state of sanity ever again. These users or bystanders have gazed into the deep dark abyss that is eso and learned far too much about the secrets of existence to ever go back to normalcy. God have mercy on their souls.

Esoenlightenment

Once a user is consumed hopelessly by esomania to the point where esonesia has little to no pull on them, there is only one avenue left for them. A user can delve even deeper into eso to the point where they become spiritually enlightened as a result. The esoteric knowledge that eso has to offer begins to take root in their mind. Notable examples of esoenlightened individuals include Georgehannsen, The Zerners, The Bogdanoffs, and amougies (DO NOT RESEARCH). These unique individuals can manifest supernatural powers as a result of their extended exposure to eso. The Zerners in particular found a way to transcend space and time, transforming themselves into pure energy. There is no known limit to the possible abilities of esoenlightened users.
