A thoughtograph is a picture that has been taken using one's own mind.

The thoughtographer concentrates their psychic energy onto a strip of film in order to create an image. Because of the nature of this process, only a select few people are able to concentrate their psychic energy at the levels required to imprint onto film. Georgehannsen is known to have created thoughtographs using his psychokinetic abilities obtained from the Maroney Projects.

There are many examples of thoughtographs found throughout Esoteric Chat. For example, the avatars of some centipede accounts have used thoughtography in some form or another. They are most easily distinguished by deformities in the picture, a lack of any real background, and an ethereal facial expression that is devoid of emotion.
