Signatures

Signatures are a short text that can either show beneath your post or on your user profile beneath the top-level statistics. They can be formatted in the same manner as posts, except for certain elements, such as images and videos, which are not rendered.

This feature is part of the MemberProfiles plugin originally developed by Adolf Hitler shortly before being modified by admin to respond better to dynamic input. In addition to signatures, the plugin adds profile bios and the ability to hide/show your e-mail address on your profile.

Signatures are often used on Esoteric Chat in an ironic sense. They often posit that the signateur is some kind of staff member, or the likes. In reality, signatures are unverified and do absolutely nothing to validate and/or confirm an account's identity. They can, however, be used to include SHA-1 signatures that may be verified; this has nothing to do with password hashes, which are supposed to exist only in the database.
