E-dating

E-dating refers to the practice of having an emotional, romantic relationship over the Internet. Usually, both parties are a long distance away from each other; they may not even live in the same country. It is regarded as an important part of online communities, as any significant group of people comprising of members of both sexes is bound to inspire romance between two or more members of that community. Despite this, it is highly unlikely that an online relationship will lead to an actual one.

Some platforms, such as Discord, are full of people seeking attention from e-girls. Men, or sometimes women, who are driven by their primal desires and have no upper level intelligence will spend hours on end in order to cultivate the attention of these e-girls.

Exploitation and personal gain

Women long ago came to the realization en masse that they can profit off this behavior. Platforms to the likes of OnlyFans rely on men who pay for subscriptions that grant them access to 'content' from its users. There are numerous Discord servers that are centered around pornography, unlocking particular channels with special roles, and paying to message a girl privately.

A man who spends most of his time chasing after women online is known as a simp. Haxxing is a prime example of this, as he will spend hours on end chatting up with women in order to make them believe that he is a good person; in reality, he is just trying to make an impression so as to get her to move in with him, or some retarded shit like that.

Emotional trauma

The practice of e-dating does not merely exploit men, but also has a series of negative psychological effects on the women who become involved in online relationships. Women who participate in these relationships, especially for a long period of time, often become dependent on male attention and being 'pursued' online. Furthermore, since most of the partners in online relationships that are actual women tend to be teenagers, it forges an unrealistic and delusional concept about the ideal romantic relationship, fucking over their mind for the rest of their lives.

Several of the "e-relationships" that came about from Schizoid Arena were highly abusive, often prompting one of the parties to cut the others' name into themselves with a razor, or make other tributes as a sign of devotion.

Pedophilia

Communities that are centered around e-dating on platforms like Discord are a playground for child predators to engage in conversations with underage users and direct them towards a lewd subject matter. This practice is known as grooming. A number of older users, like Ghost and Hypno, engaged with numerous underage girls on Schizoid Arena, using the server as a tool to groom them into being in a romantic online relationship.
